Ridge View is a 2022 Whole Child Award Finalists

South Carolina Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) sponsors this award program and seeks to identify schools in South Carolina that have created a school culture with programs that exemplify the five tenets of this Initiative: Healthy, Safe, Supported, Challenged, or Engaged. In February, Ridge View will receive a site visit from members of SCASCD’s Whole Child Award School Selection Committee. The winning school will receive recognition, 3 complimentary registrations for the SC ASCD Fall Conference, and a $2,500 grant, for the purpose of implementing other goals related to the tenets of The Whole Child Initiative.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Last Call for Yearbook Preorders!!!

The final deadline to preorder a 2022 yearbook is January 22. Preordering will guarantee to reserve a yearbook at the end of the year. After January 22, yearbooks will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once the extra yearbooks are sold, no additional yearbooks will be ordered. The current cost is $80.00. The price will increase to $100.00 on March 31, 2022. You can purchase a yearbook on the Richland 2 Parent Portal website or at www.yearbookforever.com.

Today’s Bell Schedule

Welcome to 2nd Semester!!! All students will report to their Advisory class at 8:30 AM to pick up their schedule.


ACADEMICS: R2i2 Bus Schedule

Students should report to the bus lot at least 10 minutes before the bus departs Ridge View. If they attend R2i2 in the afternoon, they can pick up their lunch in the cafeteria without waiting in line. They just need to let the Administration and Sudexo know.

Community: MCEC’s Upcoming FREE Webinars

Check out MCEC’s (Military Child Education Coalition) is offering two free webinars this week. On January 18th, their Effective Listening webinar will provide the keys to effective communication between a parent and a child, proven discipline strategies that reinforce self-discipline and build self-esteem, and the do’s and don’ts of effective listening. On the following day, January 19th, MCEC is offering an interactive webinar to explore a variety of parenting styles, their strengths, and their weaknesses. Specific examples of the researched-based Balanced Parenting style will be shared including strategies for parents who want to transition to this style of parenting.
