ATHLETICS: Derek Howard II Named Head Football Coach

Ridge View High School announces the hiring of Derek Howard II as their new Head Football Coach. Coach Howard, who was Ridge View’s first QB has now returned as the new Head Coach.

Prior to coming to Ridge View, Howard served as the Head Football Coach at Wilson High School for three years. He also previously served as Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Ridge View High School for five years. From 2008-2011, he served as the Offensive Coordinator and QB coach at Keenan High School. Howard also has coaching experience at Fairfield Central High School, Lower Richland High School and Allen University. In total he has over 20 years of coaching experience.

School as our Head Football Coach. He is a true Blazer, and I am confident that he
will continue the tradition of excellence within our Football program. He is going to
be a tremendous asset to our school and our community,” said Dr. Brenda
Mack-Foxworth, Principal of Ridge View High School.

ACADEMICS: Clemson Career Workshop

The Snelsire, Sawyer, & Robinson Clemson Career Workshop is a summer program designed to support the readiness of high-achieving students from diverse populations to enter college. The Clemson Career Workshop enables rising high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to get an inside look into Clemson University while learning tips and tools needed to prepare for college and beyond. Furthermore, the Clemson Career Workshop provides students with exposure to science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), arts and humanities, and social and behavioral sciences.
