“Día de los Muertos” or “Day of the Dead” is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd in Mexico and by people of Mexican heritage in other parts of the world. This tradition is a unique and colorful way of honoring and remembering deceased loved ones.
During Día de los Muertos, families create ofrendas (altars) with offerings, such as favorite foods, photos, and mementos, to celebrate the lives of those who have passed away. It’s a time for remembrance, reflection, and celebration of the lives of the deceased.
View County Family, it’s the most wonderful time of the year: Winter Wishes! This is our opportunity to give back to those who need it most in our local community to ensure that everyone is healthy and safe during the holidays. Victims of domestic violence need our help! SisterCare is an organization that gives refuge to women and children escaping these unsafe conditions and helps them create a new life. Partnering with SisterCare, the Ridge View High School Scholars Academy Magnet for Business and Law is trying to collect at least 750 toiletries. Help contribute to our cause by collecting items such as toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrush, paper towels, soap, etc. etc. Any items can be dropped at the front desk or brought to room C-60. For more information feel free to contact Mrs. Nicole Walker (nwalker@richland2.org). You can also visit the SisterCare website at www.sistercare.org.
